Supplier Evaluation

Introduction
Supplier evaluation is a requirement-specific process. A manufacturer may appear relevant at an early stage but still require careful technical, commercial, legal and quality review.
Product and specification compatibility
Confirm that the supplier understands the requested product and can address the required material, dimensions, tolerances, performance and documentation.
Production capability and capacity
Ask focused questions about the applicable process, equipment, production planning and the expected volume. Do not assume capacity from general descriptions.
Quality procedures, certifications and documentation
Review the procedures and documents relevant to the product and destination. Availability of a document does not remove the need to validate its relevance and status.
Export readiness and minimum order quantities
Discuss export documentation, packaging, shipping expectations and minimum order quantity alongside the specific commercial offer.
Commercial terms and quotation clarity
A useful quotation identifies the product basis, quantity, currency, Incoterm, timing, payment considerations and assumptions.
Communication responsiveness and sampling
Clear, timely responses can help an evaluation, but they are only one factor. Samples and product verification should be defined according to the buyer’s requirements.
Factory and third-party inspections
Where appropriate, buyers may arrange factory visits, audits or independent inspection. The scope should be set by the buyer and qualified advisers.
References, logistics and due diligence
Company information, references, delivery plans and legal or financial checks may be relevant. These checks should be independent and proportionate to the proposed transaction.
Supplier evaluation checklist
• Product compatibility and specification understanding
• Production capability and minimum order quantity
• Relevant documentation and quality procedures
• Quotation clarity and commercial terms
• Communication, sampling and delivery expectations
• Appropriate technical, legal, financial and quality due diligence
Warning signs buyers should not ignore
Treat unclear specifications, inconsistent documentation, unexplained commercial assumptions or pressure to proceed without clarification as reasons for further review.
Adexa Global’s role and limitations
Adexa Global may support supplier research and communication. It does not replace the buyer’s own technical, legal, financial or quality due diligence, and it does not present every identified supplier as approved or verified.
Conclusion
Evaluation should be evidence-led and aligned to the product and transaction. Read the sourcing guide, review the Product Sourcing from Türkiye page, or submit a sourcing request for an initial discussion.
